At age nine, playing only a snare drum and cymbal to music on the radio, David began his pursuit of music. Formal training during junior and senior high school led to memberships in the marching band, pep band, stage band and All State Band as well as several garage bands. Later musical opportunities included an R&B band, church orchestras, a jazz/swing combo and now the Drummer & Percussionist with Stone Canyon.

David performs with a Pearl Vision VSX or Pearl Master Custom MRX set using Pro-Mark 5A and Silver Fox 7A nylon tip hickory sticks. His cymbals of choice are Zildjian A. David's musical style has been influenced by jazz fusion drummer Dave Weckl, Danny Seraphini(Chicago), Michael Hossack(Doobie Brothers), Don Brewer(Grand Funk Railroad) and Aynsley Dunbar(Mothers of Invention).
